Corcoran Horizon Realty is bringing a new perspective to commercial real estate in Ontario's secondary markets. Canada's first franchise of the globally recognized Corcoran brand is launching a dedicated commercial division, starting in Hamilton, with plans to expand across its Ontario network. The move addresses a gap that has become increasingly apparent outside major urban centres, where commercial properties are often handled either by residential agents or by large institutional firms whose focus is on bigger markets.
For small business owners and property investors, having access to the right commercial expertise can make a significant difference. Yet outside of Toronto and other major cities, those resources can be harder to find. Corcoran Horizon Realty sees an opportunity to change that by bringing together dedicated commercial knowledge with the marketing power, technology and global reach of the Corcoran brand.
The new division will serve Hamilton and surrounding communities within a one-to-two-hour radius, including Niagara, Burlington, Waterloo Region and Muskoka. That broader approach reflects the realities of commercial real estate, where transactions and client relationships naturally extend beyond city limits. It also gives the division the flexibility to work with businesses and property owners in markets where Corcoran may not yet have a traditional residential office.
Hamilton is the natural place to start. The launch coincides with the one-year anniversary of Corcoran Horizon Realty's Hamilton office, where Managing Partner Martinus Geleynse has already built relationships across the region. His commercial work has taken him beyond Hamilton into communities such as St. Catharines, reinforcing the idea that a strong commercial practice should be regional rather than limited to a single market.

The division will have its own branding, signage and marketing resources, while tapping into Corcoran's global network and established back-office infrastructure. It also opens the door to a stronger connection between Corcoran Horizon Realty's residential and commercial businesses. A residential client may also own land, an industrial property or a factory, for example, creating a natural opportunity to bring in specialized commercial expertise when their needs change.
For Corcoran Horizon Realty, the launch is about more than adding another service to its brokerage. It's another step in building a broader real estate platform across Ontario — one that can support clients and agents in both residential and commercial markets. With offices in Toronto, Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge, Muskoka and Hamilton, and further expansion underway, Hamilton may be the starting point, but the ambition is much bigger: to bring the Corcoran approach to commercial real estate to more of the province.
